Spring 2009
Spring has finally arrived after an extreme and extended winter! Snow and ice levels in Muskoka were at all time record highs with snowfall exceeding 23 feet! In some parts of Lake Muskoka, particularily around Acton Island there is still over 30" of ice! Truly hard to believe. But better weather is just around the corner!
The long awaited signs of another Muskoka cottage season have appeared, and the year is all ready off to a solid start. Muskoka cottages and waterfront properties are being listed and sold, a sure sign summer is on the minds of us all !
We expect another successful weekend at The Cottage Life Show this year. Many cottage buyers flocked to the real estate booths hoping to discover a waterfront property that could become their cherished summer haven. Many property sellers are taking advantage of this opportunity, and listing their property for sale, even with the remnants of winter snow still on the ground!
If you are hoping to buy or sell a Muskoka cottage or cabin, now is a great time to establish a relationship with a Realtor.
Making contact with a real estate professional has many benefits to you, the buyer. An experienced Muskoka Realtor will provide you with solid professional service that ensures you will receive pertinent information to carefully guide you through the purchasing process. The purchase of a recreational property is serious business, and you deserve the most knowledgeable representation to assist in your transaction. By establishing a working relationship with one Realtor you will be assured of receiving timely information on new listings that suit your needs and budget. It is important to note that in an active real estate market, activity on desirable new listings is immediate, and often the property is sold before it appears in advertisements.
We work with select buyers to locate the exact type of property to suit their needs. Over the years, we have found this to be the most effective way of doing business. We dedicate our efforts to locating specific Muskoka properties to our group of serious and committed buyers. We accomplish this goal by compiling a ‘wish list’ for our clients, and making personal contact on a regular basis. When a new listing arrives that we believe will satisfy our buyers we immediately e mail or fax listing information and photos. Generally, our buyers will view the property at their earliest convenience to ensure they have an opportunity to purchase, if they desire.
If selling is on your agenda this year, give us a call. Now may be the right time to market your property!
As we patiently await boating and other water activities, why not enjoy some of the activities of spring in Muskoka. For a delicious salute to spring consider a family outing to the sugar bush! Both the Windermere Lion’s Club and the Milford Bay Fire Department host fundraising pancake breakfasts, complete with fresh Muskoka maple syrup, during the month of April. It is worth the drive for the divinely sweet, Muskoka treat!
